My Village To New York is a factual narrative from the perspective of a visiting immigrant. From the Visa procedures and interview, to long trans-continental flight to JFK airport.
Every moment, evey experience, is captured, as well as happenings on the streets of New York, at eateries, malls and landmarks.
A section on “Reflections” talks about DVC lottery scam, gast and false life, lost opportunit, love connection, etc. Also punctuated with humor and the author’s pedigree, the book is an expository on diaspora funding, Barrack Obama’s Africa Programme, as well as challenges for resident immigrants.
It reveals America not as the ‘world’s policeman’, but as a democratic, business community, conscious and consistent in human development and endeavour.
