James Egbuchulam is a distinguished broadcaster, media executive, poet, novelist, journalist, and public communicator with decades of experience in Nigeria’s media and literary landscape. His professional journey spans more than thirty-five years with Radio Nigeria, where he served in numerous leadership and creative roles, including Studio Manager, Announcer, Producer, Marketing Officer, Controller of Programmes, Controller of Marketing, Manager of Public Affairs, and General Manager of multiple stations. He served as General Manager of Radio Nigeria Heartland FM, Owerri, and became the Pioneer General Manager of Radio Nigeria Pacesetter FM, Umuahia. His remarkable contributions to broadcasting later led to his appointment as Director General of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation. A respected literary voice, James has authored multiple books and published over thirty essays and articles in newspapers and magazines since 1973. His poetry and prose have reached readers across the world, while his novel The Chains Are Broken has been adopted by some tertiary institutions. Beyond English literature, he writes and performs poetry in Igbo language and Nigerian Pidgin English, reflecting his commitment to preserving culture through storytelling. He studied Mass Communication at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, after attending Baptist High School, Port Harcourt, and the College of the Immaculate Conception, Enugu. James is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration, member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, and a former correspondent of Radio France International. Today, he continues his passion for communication and leadership as the CEO of JUNO-TEL while inspiring readers through his writing and public engagements.
